A Glimpse of the Upcoming Month?

I really was hoping that it wouldn't come to this, but Hillary has decided to go negative.

From CNN:
Hillary Clinton is taking aim at Barack Obama in a new Wisconsin television ad for not agreeing to participate in a debate there.

"Both Democratic candidates have been invited to a televised Wisconsin debate," an announcer says in the new 30 second spot. "Hillary Clinton has said yes. Barack Obama hasn't. Maybe he'd prefer to give speeches than have to answer questions."

"Like why Hillary Clinton has the only health care plan that covers every American, and the only economic plan that freezes foreclosures," the announcer continues. "Wisconsin deserves to hear both candidates debate the issues that matter. And that's…not debatable."

Obama has participated in 18 debates and will participate in two more in the next month. This is a very unfortunate ad that Hillary is putting forth and I really hope that the voters of Wisconsin see this as another example of "politics as usual" versus "politics of change."

This is a tactic all candidates from behind who give better debates than speaches do...have as many debates as possible. Its her last grasp, leave it alone.

Obama doesn't have to worry about debates, he's winning. He has his message, which I swear after reading a article on Tocqueville, he's totally used his approach, community organizing. His speeches put him over the top, its a strategy. Why in the world would he want to debate Hillary in Wisconsin? As long he can maintain large audiences, and do his thang, he'll win. Simple as that, thus she wants the debates, to put them back on the same level.

I wish the ad hadn't been as negative. I think both sides have been negative though, can't say this is the first negative thing.

Gotta agree with Sarah, Adam. Negativity has been coming from all sides. And yes, Hillary is behind. She knew February would be a bad month. She's trying to minimize momentum until March and April. But seriously. Obama can't quite hang in a debate. His inexperience(comparably) is transparent. I mean, if he's gonna avoid the flurry of debates as his strategy, she's gotta call him on it--as hers. The ad says "Maybe he'd prefer to give speeches than to answer questions." Would you disagree? Search your heart. You know it to be true(to quote Star Wars).
